After a lot of struggling, I got this combination to work.

I did several installs and here's what happened:

INSTALL #1

Everything went well, until half way through the installation screen my monitor would fall go off. After searching I found out that I needed to manually force the "GraphicsEnabler=Yes" to force GPU injection. This resolved the issue.

INSTALL #2

Everything went very smoothly. Unfortunately, no internet. I manually installed the RealTek drivers and it worked nicely. The major problem was sleep wake. The computer will go to sleep, but cannot be woken up without a system reboot. I read in the forums to try deleting the NullCPUPowerManagement.kext and deleting this gave me a kernel panic that could not be resolved without a re-installation.

INSTALL #3

I went ahead and updated the BIOS to UEFI. Updating the BIOS to UEFI substantially increased the speed of the machine, and sped up the boot time. But now I would get kernel panic at the first screen. I thought this maybe due to Kakewalk issuing its motherboard specific DSDT when UEFI did not require a DSDT. So I tried to fix this by invoking "DSDT=/dev/null GraphicsEnabler=Yes" at the boot prompt and this did the trick. Then once everything was done, I had no internet, no audio, no sleep/wake. I then downloaded TonymacX86's MULTIBEAST and installed that. Deleted the "NullCPUPowerManagement.kext" and then rebooted. Voila, it works!

If anyone needs help with a similar config, always happy to share my experience.

GA-EX58-UD5

Ok, I got it working and am going to post how, to save others some time:

First I wanted to upgrade my hackintosh install from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion, but this gave me problems so I made a clean install on an external drive.

Be sure you have a bootable cloned image of your working hackintosh install with carboncopycloner or superduper! on an external drive or partitition of one your harddrives inside your computer. This will save you time and nerves. If you do a clean install this is not so important of course.

The first problem with snow leopard is: YOU CANNOT RUN KAKEWALK 4.5 ON SNOW LEOPARD: it will crash before the install begins. So what I did to circumvent installing lion first is: I installed Mountain Lion inside a VMware Virtual Machine (requires version 4.1.3 upwards to install ML).

Then I created my usb thumb drive (you will need at least 8 GB stick or you can as well use an external drive / partition) inside the machine from the Mountain Lion image (needs to be .dmg to select it).

Now you need to go to BIOS and follow the instructions of the kakewalk guide. Most important is the order in which the drives wil be booted:

1. USB STICK

2. Drive where you want to install Mountain Lion

3. Other drives...

You must select this in Bios and there is an extra submenu setting for it, be sure to go inside this one AND your USB drive needs to be connected! Otherwise you can not select it and move it up (pressing the + key).

Now boot should work fine and the next problem arose: the screen went blank. I had to set "org.chameleon.Boot.plist" inside the "Extra" folder to

<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>

<string>Yes</string>

to make it work (see Help section of this website). Use Textwrangler to edit these files. If your graphics card works without this setting do not edit this of course.

Now you simply need to install Mountain Lion on your drive as per the guide on this website.

After the install is finished you boot from the USB STICK and select the drive where you just installed ML from the bootloader.

After booting the drive you install kakewalk to the drive and after finishing the install you should edit "org.chameleon.Boot.plist" graphics enabler inside on your new drive again, as kakewalk will install it with No instead of Yes again... If your graphic card booted without no black screen before do not do this as said above. To edit files inside of Mountain Lion be sure to enable root: How to Enable Root User on OSX Lion/Mountain Lion - YouTube

and http://www.maclife.com/article/howtos/how_tweak_settings_gatekeeper_mountain_lion

After installing the 10.8.3 update I encountered several problems:

sleep does not work - FIX: install SleepEnabler kext inside EXTRA/EXTENSIONS folder. Download here:

http://code.google.com/p/xnu-sleep-enabler/downloads/detail?name=SleepEnabler.kext.10.7.x-10.8.zip&can=2&q=

audio does not work - FIX: install audio codec (889a is correct for the UD5) from multibeast for mountain lion:

http://tonymacx86.blogspot.de/2010/02/multibeast-ultimate-post-installation.html

I also had some weird setting inside the network panel where it would use my bluetooth adapter as the ethernet adapter. I deleted the bluetooth adapter and just added a ethernet adapter. This did not prevent ethernet from working though and now works fine as well.

This is how to enable the apple loading screen when booting in the right resolution (replace 1680x1050 with your screen size):

<key>Graphics Mode</key>

<string>1680x1050x32</string>

If you use your system for graphics or videos and have a Geforce card be sure to install CUDA from nvidia. This uses your video RAM to speed up computations in some programs.

If you have any questions please ask. Using the following way I have been able to get everything working fine.

Here is my complete org.chameleon.Boot.plist

After several attempts I managed to get the system working 100%. This means including single/dual screen and manual/auto sleep functions. I also managed to create a Kakewalk install USB without the need for a combo update in the following way:
I also own a 'real' mac and have bought OSX lion via the App store one year ago. Now I installed OSX on a new machine and went to the App store, in the store I downloaded OSX Lion again (you will get the current version 10.7.3). I pointed to this package in order to create a Kakewalk install USB stick.
With the stick I did a fresh install on the GA-EX58-UD5 (F13 Bios). It will inmediately install 10.7.3 (no combo update needed). After that everything except sleep worked. After that I added the latest SleepEnabler.kext to the Extra/Extensions folder and ran Kext utility.

First it seemed that Manual Sleep worked and Auto sleep did not work. I found on the internet that this was caused by the DVD drive, if no disk was in the DVD drive the system would not auto sleep, if a disk was in the drive auto sleep worked. (Auto sleep also worked when I disconnected the complete DVD drive). I replaced my DVD drive with a Sony AD-7280S and now everything is working.
This is my Setup:

Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 (F13)
Graphics: Geforce 8600 GTS
Memory: 6 GB 1033 DRAM3
DVD: Sony AD7280S

The graphics card is not the fastest available but it has passive cooling, With the kakewalk setup both screens are working and if you only use one screen there is no need for the DVI-VGA adapter to be put in the port of the second screen.

Hello , got success on this setup that but ran into some troubles so i though id list them here to help others.

1. Did as instructed , bought new mountain lion from app store on my friends mac , used the kakewalk to make the stick.

2. Set the Bios as instructed here

3. The stick booted , but after a while started displaying white screen with black cursor. Couldnt get forward with the install so i found this solution :

-I took off the HD6870 card and tried with some old leftover card and got through with the install.

-I read that removing this file from the USB stick : System/Library/Extensions/ATI6000Controller.kext will help you with this , but you have to then later add this file using Kext wizard. I didint have access to Mac to remove the file but luckily i had that old card around.

4. Did as instructed with the install. Got into Mountain Lion and everything was cool , sound was working , internet was working , sleep hangs my computer but took that off i didint need it anyways.

5. Took off the USB Stick and tried to boot from HDD , Didint work , always got this Boot 0 Error.

This i read is because iam using a new HDD that is doing data on 4000kt clusters and not in 500kt ,something like this is the problem. You might not have this problem depending on your HDD , mine is 750gt Seagate caviar green sata 3.

   Solution : http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/278198-boot0error-easiest-way-to-fix-it/

You make this Ubuntu cd/DVD and boot from that. Then in the Ubuntu you do some slight edits and add this file Boot1h as instructed. After that the Boot starts working from HDD. It was not very hard to do and fixed the problem

Yea but now everything seems to be cool and im installing CS Global Offensive atm of writing this :P , might be some problems ofc that i havent yet realised but things work so far.

Nutcase :

-I would remove the Ati6000.kext from the usb stick after making it with Kakewalk (If you have 6xxx Ati graphics card)

-Download that Boot1h file and Burn that Ubuntu cd/dvd (free) and use the solution to Boot01 error, it was the first one that worked , i tried other methods too

Thanks to Kakewalk and everybody , ill be making a donation to this forum and site

I tried TonyMac as I always wanted to try, since people claim they get better geek bench scores by installing from tony mac. Tony Mac is kinda of a pain, so I went back to Kakewalk 4.5 and I gotta say it did not let me down. I also Had a I3 2120 3.3 Cpu clocked it at 3.46, since you cant really overclock these cpu's. I got a geekbench score of 8141 when all was said and done. Not bad.... I remember Having a Core 2 quad q8300 that gave me a 6745 geekbench score last year. So the Intel CPU's Have improved a a good rate. Just as usually the installation went without a hitch. Once I was done I restarted machine hit enter then loaded my hard drive, once in Os X Mountain I choose the USb stick and installed kakewalk 4.5 on the Hard Drive again and bam no more need to use usb to load OS X.Just wish I did not have to use Multibeast for hard drives and usb 3.0 kexts, Is there a way Mr Janek can include this so it would be all on our kakewalk install files. Also I never attempted the sleep fix or fixes. I just set my computer not to sleep ever. I keep it all at full power. Also try to include the HD intel 3000-4000 folks in mind also, it would be a nice thing to do for these people who cant afford gpu's and by going by tony macs info if I install they things on top of kakewalk besides the usb 3.0 and hard drive kexts, it goes right in system panics, so tony mac and kakewalk really dont mesh too well together.
