Gigabyte P55M-UD2
  • Ok, just build a mediacenter-like mac here:

    Board: Gigabyte P55M-UD2 rev.1.1

    CPU: Core i3 530

    Gfx: Asus EN210 Silent

    RAM: OCZ 4GB DDR3-1333

Works all fine with Kakewalk! For ethernet and digital audio out S/PDIF (including 5.1) i used the Tonymac installer. Connects beautifully to my homecinema using Plex and the Sony PS3 DVD Remote with Remote Buddy
  • Hi! I curious if you knew what board revision you had?

I have the same mobo and it's not working but I have done a kakewalk install on a older ep-45 with no problems at all.

    Thanks!
  • What version of SL did you use to install? Because it seems after searching various forums you can't use 10.6.0 since it doesn't recognize the i5 cpu and gets weird error or reboots.
  • I think 10.6.4 is the least system version you have to use. Maybe 10.6.3 works, but I´m not sure. 10.6.0 didn´t work for me either.
  • Yea I just tried with 10.6.3 retail and it doesnt work either....dunno how i could get a 10.6.4 retail since the apple stores dont even carry those.
  • Try to do a clean install on an other mac, update to 10.6.4 using softwareupdate and then install kakewalk. Thats how i did it. No big deal :D

This will be solved with Kakewalk 3.0. Coming soon™. ;)
  • BTW: I am unable to install the 10.6.5 update, no matter if combo or delta update. It always aborts while installing, saying someting like there is an error, please report to manufacturer. Any ideas?

    Looking forward to kakewalk 3.0! :o :P

Edit: Startet from another System and installed the 10.6.5 update on the primary system. Now works.
  • I used the same board for my GA-H55M-USB3 and everything worked fine.
