How to create a mbr manually?

    Hi,

    In the process of restoring my backup, I wasn't able to restore my mbr. So..for now I have the following hdds connected to my desktop.

    1. Fully working hackintosh with kakewalk.
    2. A hackintosh with kakewalk without MBR partition (can't boot itself).

    So the #2 requires #1 in order to boot.

    How do I create (or install) MBR on #2?

    am I using correct terms here? by MBR, I'm referring to the partition with around 201mb size that kakewalk installed on my hdd.

    You need to install the chameleon and or chimera bootloader depending on the version of the OS/Kakewalk you are running.

    Kakewalk didn't install it, OS X does and its probably the EFI you're referring too not a MBR. It isn't required on a Hackintosh either.

    You didn't provide much details to go on but I'm going to assume it's something like: boot0: GPT, boot0: error? etc

    If you had a hackintosh working previously then use the kakewalk USB to get into your OS and reinstall Chameleon or Chimera and that should do the trick.
