How to create a mbr manually?
  • Hi,

In the process of restoring my backup, I wasn't able to restore my mbr. So..for now I have the following hdds connected to my desktop.

    1. Fully working hackintosh with kakewalk.
    2. A hackintosh with kakewalk without MBR partition (can't boot itself).

So the #2 requires #1 in order to boot.

How do I create (or install) MBR on #2?

am I using correct terms here? by MBR, I'm referring to the partition with around 201mb size that kakewalk installed on my hdd.
  • You need to install the chameleon and or chimera bootloader depending on the version of the OS/Kakewalk you are running.
  • Kakewalk didn't install it, OS X does and its probably the EFI you're referring too not a MBR. It isn't required on a Hackintosh either.

You didn't provide much details to go on but I'm going to assume it's something like: boot0: GPT, boot0: error? etc

If you had a hackintosh working previously then use the kakewalk USB to get into your OS and reinstall Chameleon or Chimera and that should do the trick.
  • ah..thank you for all. I used chameleon to reinstall it. it works perfectly now.! thank you all
