X79 Chipset
  • Any news regarding support for new Gigabyte boards? Especially the X79 Chipset!
  • I'm actually interested in this as well. I'm building a video editing station and would like to use an X79 board to get the extra cores the i7-3930K has.
  • Hi MrJanek,
Same request here, I'm looking at the GA-X79 series to replace my aging yet beloved Hackintosh. Any comment will be well received.
    Best,
    Daniel
  • I also would love a kakewalk for the gigabyte X79 board
    All the best

    Keep up the good work
  • GIGABYTE GA-X79-UD5 please, please, please
  • Asus Sabretooth x79 please!
  • Any x79 board supporting 8 memory slot dims.
  • +1 for the GIGABYTE GA-X79-UD5 , please.. :-)

  • I'd also like to ad a +1 for the x79 chipset. And especially for the GA-X79-UD5 as well. I currently have lion running on this mobo but with a lot of flaws and I really appreciate the Kakewalk way :-)

    Thanks!
  • I would also love to see this... +1 for the GIGABYTE GA-X79-UD5, please!

  • I also have a GIGABYTE GA-X79-UD5 with an Intel i7 3930K CPU and I would really appreciate support for that board. That Kakewalk method is waaayyyyy more userfriendly than all the other ones i've seen out there!

    Thanks in advance!!
  • Agreed... I've got what I would consider a very successful build with an X79 Sabertooth, but nothing compares to the ease and elegance of the Kakewalk way.   I would like to have that more vanilla "everything working" experience like my P67 setup.  ATM, I have no speedstep, no sleep and a bit of a hack to get all cores going.  So definitely not performing at 100%, but still screaming fast.  20K GB 64bit is nothing to be ashamed of, but I get almost 24K in Win7 64bit.

Hopefully Apple will have chipset support natively soon, that should usher in direct support and hopefully Kakewalk support.
  •  I have the x79 Gigabyte running, using unibeast and multibeast, but would love a cakewalk solution, as you say; clean and neat solution, everything works!
