First I would just like to say I'm not and expert with kakewalk, in fact I've never even installed a hackintosh before, and this is my reason for posting here. Heck, I don't even know if this is the right place to post?
Here's my situation:
I bought a hackintosh about 2 years ago already built and installed with 2 hard drives (windows 7 on one and OSX on the other). Everything has worked perfect for 2 years and it still does now, but I've never upgraded from the version I originally got. (OS version 10.6.1) I now seek to upgrade to OS Lion without messing up my computer! Unfortunately, when I bought the machine, the only information I got was he used kakewalk to install the mac OS on the hard drive. (hence why I'm posting on this forum). And lost the contact information for the person I bought it off.
I literally don't know where to start, so I was wondering if any of you fine gentlemen would like to guide me through the process?
If there any system info you would need to know please tell me and I'll post it!
Hi, you will need to know the manufacturer and model number for the motherboard and the version of the BIOS. You can download a free app for Windows called CPU-Z which will tell you these. You can also watch this video;
The same except the BIOS, for the video card would also be helpful. You will need a USB flash stick of at least 8GB, and a copy of Lion.
I'm no Hackintosh expert, but I am a long term Mac user (20 years), and I've been running my Hackintosh for over 2 years now. I hope this gets you started.
I recommend you watch this video;
The presenter is young and a little erratic, but it does demystify the Kakewalk procedure. Which by the way is way slicker than it was 2 years ago. Good luck. Anil
