My UNIBEAST install broke after updating to 10.7.3 for whatever reason. I've had it since 10.6 and made several tweaks to the DSDT and boot options that I couldn't fix it this time... just got messier as I tried to fix... first lost lost sound, lost USB, got USB back, lost boot, Kernel panics... aargh! N00b!
Stumbled into KAKEWALK and decided to nosedive... everything worked, except for DMI Pool Data freeze if not using Kakewalk USB. Read the forums, solution for me was to [DISABLE] all other CMOS boot options except for [HDD] (won't need [CDROM] and my Kakewalk USB loads under [HDD] aswell, not [USB-FDD] or whatever). I have multiple hard drives, so I just put the Kakewalk install at the top. Piece of piss!
Everything I care for works, no iCloud or AppStore, but I never had that working on UNIBEAST either!
Hope this doesn't get more complicated that... thanks for your hard work MrJ
GA-X58-UD3R FA 3.33 GHz Intel Core i7 GeForce GTS 250 1024 MB Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 Kakewalk 4.1.1
Thanks for the report! I have the same mobo but get stuck on the first install screen because I can't click anything (mouse movement works). Any suggestions?
I didn't have to do anything after running Kakewalk but I had a similar problem before...
Try booting in single user mode (type [-x] then [Enter] under your hardrive as the bootloader starts up). Hopefully you can control your computer for now.
I have an even better success story. I have a running windows system with the formentioned Mainboard: GA-X58A-UD3R (don't know the bios version - where can I see that?) i7 950 GeForce GTX 460 6GB RAM
Now, using Kakewalk latest version 4.1.1, I created a boot disk (usb-HDD) from my Lion 10.7.4. , which I freshly downloaded from the appstore. I followed the installation steps thoroughly and chose a fresh SSD Crucial M4 as install target.
No problem at all! Everything worked EXCEPT: - SATA-3 access (the HDD on SATA-6GB is not visible) - My WiFi card, I'll change it to TP-Link WDN4800 which should work OOB
Even Appstore, itunes, timemachine, etc work like a charm. The only thing I noticed is, that iTunes wouldn't update with a minor update although apple update claimed the update process successful.
GREAT WORK, mrjanek!
P.S.: Using MultiBeast afterwards, trying to "optimize" things... well, I immediately got Kernel Panic after I changed some things. I will leave this tool alone - kakewalk is enough for me.
