post installation boot hanging and forcing restart, continuous loop.
  • Kakewalk has been crashing and forcing reboot after the load screen with the image of the hard drive. I have tried verbose mode to see what particular issue i am having but the system reboots too quickly. I have a Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3, i5 2500k, 8 GB DDR3 Ripjaws, Crucial M4 128GB SSD, Cooler Master Heat Sync, and an 850W PSU.
I had it running after finishing the build initially, then I installed the sound and network driver kexts, ran tonyxmac to install a few other drivers and I think it may have done something to the boot sequence of the SSD. Any thoughts anyone? I would appreciate any help whatsoever
    Thanks
    Glenn
  • I got the system to boot once again. I had the video memory allocating 480MB, (I am using on-board intel until i get a new video card) once I dropped the mem to 256 it booted. I re-installed kakewalk and the system was hanging because I need to install the correct kext for the video and then update the bios for 480 Megs.

I hope this helps others out there
