I am trying to install Lion on the hardware listed in the Discussion Title and am having no luck what so ever. My USB drive installed with Kakewalk 4.1.1 will not boot. Whatching Verbose mode... it just scrolls text like normal and then just reboots in the middle of loading all by itself... This is driving me nuts like you would not believe! Anybody else have this setup and have you been successful?
Ok So I went out and bought a 2nd Gen i5-2500K CPU to replace my ivy bridge... The system is booting now. I did not know that Ivy Bridge was not supported yet. I had posted here before regarding my original Geforce gtx 460 v2 card that I could not get working on my old core 2 duo system. I have just bought an ATI 5xxx series card and it is working now also.. Just on a side note, when my wife sees the credit card bill... I am a dead man... If you don't here from me in a couple of weeks, please send the police to look for a freash mound of dirt in my back yard... i'll be under it! lol
Anyway the only problem I am havingnow is that my system will not reboot properly... This problem happens in Mac AND Windows 7. When I initiate a reboot the OS shuts down and then the screens will not come back on. A few seconds later the computer shuts off. I have to turn the power supply off and on and then I can power up and continue as normal.. Quite frustrating to do as I stil want a dual boot.. Anybody else have this problem? Would love to know how to fix it.
I hear ya! This Board Is very picky when it comes to powering up. If I unplugged the power cord to do my monthly dust clean, It does not power up right off the bat. I have to keep pressing power until it catches. Sometime I just gotta hold the power button until it finally powers up. I think its a mother board Flaw Design on Gigabytes part. I tried f12 was a bit better, but still did not solve problem. I thought it might be a PSu issue (Still Thinking that as well but I need to confirm and dont have the cash to blow $100+ on a great PSU)
So, I went out and bought a nice shiny new power supply and it has resolved my issues with this board behaving erratically... It would seem it is very finicky when it comes to power supplies... Just thought we all should know in case somebody else has this problem..
